Art 21 date - oops
Correction:
While the Julie Mehretu episode airs October 28th, the new season begins next Wednesday, October 7th.
Art 21: Season 5
Today in class we are going to watch a few episodes of Art 21. If these interest you I encourage you to look in to more of them, either by checking out DVDs from the library or downloading on iTunes. I believe the iTunes download used to be free - it looks like they are now $1.99 per 1 hour episode.
Also, Art 21 Season 5 starts on Wednesday, October 28, on PBS. You can preview some of it here:
The first episode's theme is "systems, and one of the first artists featured will be Julie Mehretu, whose paintings have involved elements of mapping. It will air the day before our mapping "pre-critique," so maybe it will give you some ideas as you finalize your own works.
